Obama supporters black with rage over joke

I see it is not just in New Zealand that we do not have a sense of humour and have our freedom of speech and opinion curtailed by the PC morons amongst us - lucky we have the internet huh?

A Canadian broadcaster has been reprimanded for a comedy sketch saying Barack Obama would be easy to assassinate because the first black American president would stand out against the White House.

The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council issued a public reprimand of Radio-Canada, after the government's regulatory agency asked the private industry council to look into the matter before it begins its own investigation.

Canada's broadcast regulator, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission, received 210 complaints about Radio-Canada's controversial "Bye Bye 2008" New Year's Eve sketch. Go here for more

It is hard to see what is so offensive about stating that a man with dark skin stands out against a white background because he does and it is funny in the context of a joke. Do we all have short memories of what the last guy in the White House had to put up with from the very same types of people that would have complained about this joke reference?

So it is OK to pillory a white man but not a black one?

And of course it isnt racist at all to appoint a Latino Woman to the Supreme Court or various other ethnic groups to political positions just because you want your team to look like a rainbow, rather than appointing the best person for the job regardless of skin colour.

Come on, time to grow up and move on. After all there is a black man in the Whitehouse now.

Keep your wallets safe!

John Key's Socialist streak political weakness

Two stories from this week got me highly annoyed about my decision to vote National in the last election.

One was the provision of money to be used to insulate New Zealand homes and the other the idea from the Prime Minister to ban the over the counter sale of cold remedies that contain Pseudoephedrine.

On first look the idea that the Government pay to insulate New Zealand homes is a good one - warmer homes, less cost for heating healthy occupants and it doesn't cost them the full whack.

But hang on a sec what happened to working hard, saving the dosh and paying for it yourself?

You know, taking responsibility for your own life and keeping yourself warm.

Then the cold remedy thing really gets me steamed because I am a happy user of Pseudoephedrine products-they bloody work for me!  Banning a product that overwhelmingly gives relief for 10s of thousands of users every Winter because morons with a drug habit cant control their base urges makes little sense. These people will get their kicks whether we ban this or that anyway.

Both of these decisions from the Nats reject the proposition that they pushed before the election that individuals need to take responsibility for their actions and their lives and it seems the evil socialist streak that John Key had embedded in him as a child is coming out simply because it is politically advantageous to do so.

This is not what I voted the National Party in for. I want my fellow kiwis who can take responsibility for themselves given the ability to do so. To spoon feed us in the way these two examples above do is simply more of the same stuff we got from the previous lot and it needs to stop.

Auckland Protest Supports Racism and cost Citizens Millions

So a few hundred braindead losers who think there should be Maaoori representation on the new Auckland City Council without them being democratically voted in stopped Auckland traffic this morning costing those that work for a living 10s of millions of dollars in lost income.

Did they ever think about what they were protesting for?

Well, plain and simple they were protesting to support apartheid. Yep, these morons were holding up you and me to support racism.

Ironically a large percentage of those protesting today were also protesting against apartheid in South Africa during the 1981 Springbok tour.

The Willie Jacksons, John Tamaheres and Haraweras of this world protested against the evil of South African apartheid in the 1980s but these racists are back in 2009 proposing the very same thing for Auckland.

Its evil, nasty, venal, lazy thinking and it has no place in a modern progressive society.

We should all be ashamed of them and some of us really need to grow up, shun tribalism and embrace freedom, capitalism and democracy.

Excellent fillets, tasty breasts

I was interested about the big fuss made about the advert for the Huntsman Steakhouse in Dunedin that was banned after a complaint to the Advertising Standards Assoc over its use of a pretty lady holding two of the companies assets over two of hers to advertise their meat. The use of the buxom lass is supposed to be sexist and degrading to Women-ahh give me more you say!

I found a picture of it at a blog full of morons called appropriately enough the "Hand Mirror" where it criticises the splendid advert. According to these shitheads it is sexist according to a knuckle-dragger called Anna but they post it on the net where it will be there forever!

The lady in question in the advert, and clearly she is a lady, did the said spread of her own volition and from her own teeny tiny mind (go girl!) . She works there and will benefit from the extra income that the ad would surely have provided for the Huntsman Steakhouse in Dunedin.

The retards at the Hand Mirror are supposed Wimins libbers that are there to spread equal rights for (ugly) wimin but attempts by dingbats like these to stop personal freedoms of lovely ladies such as the restaurant manger expressing her own freedom and attempting to make a bloody living in the first place are clearly the murmurings of very disturbed and un-photogenic wimin with too much time on their hands and not enough gazing in a correctly appropriately glazed mirror.

People like this should make you want to vomit. They are trying to stop this woman and her company from making a living and expressing their own choice. It is juvenile in the extreme to rail against such things and I was hoping that this country would have grown up by now.

Clearly we have a long way to go before the bra less, hairy arm pitted, lesbian, dolphin loving, mung bean eating, Prius driving, global warming munching, vegan loving, whale watching, single, ugly (on the inside and out) brain dead wimin grow up!

Political Animal supports the Huntsman Steakhouse especially because of their fine. So should you.

VIDEO: Construction of the World Trade Center & Freedom Tower

I remember distinctly when I first saw the twin towers. I was about 11 years old and it was the pan shot across the Hudson towards Manhattan in the opening sequence of Barney Miller.

The image of two massive slivers of silver sticking up proudly and with ultimate defiance to everything around them will stay with me forever.

As an 11 year old those buildings seemed to defy gravity and commonsense, how come they are so big, why are they so big and how come they don't fall down and yes what would happen if a plane flew into them and of course how the hell did they build them?

Well I found a fantastic video made in 1983 from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey of the construction of the World Trade Center.

Here are a few facts about the World Trade Center:

1. The WTC opened in 1970 after 8 years of construction.

2. The WTC was the dream of David Rockefeller, chairman of the Chase Manhattan Bank, and Nelson Rockefeller, former Governor of New York.

3. The Rockefellers wanted to name the towers after themselves, but the mayor of NY, John Lindsay, insisted on the World Trade Center.

4. The City chose to build the WTC instead of building a new tunnel and large bridge over the Hudson River.

5. The World Trade Center was designed by architect Minoura Yamasaki.

6. According to Yamasaki, downtown Manhattan was the perfect place to erect the towers because there wasn't "a single building worth saving in the neighborhood."

7. Owners of nearby buildings disagreed, and delayed demolition by three weeks with their protests.

8. Sixteen blocks were cleared to house the completed WTC.

9. More than 10,000 workers involved in building the complex.

10. More than 60 of them died during construction.

11. The excavation work displaced enough soil to create Liberty Park, where four 60-floor towers and four apartment buildings were constructed.

***
Please note "Fact 11" is disputed - YT member "opusbeme" claims it should read Battery Park City !!
***

12. The WTC's foundations were laid at 60 feet below ground level.

13. The complex covered 16 acres when finished.

14. In addition to the towers, five other office buildings made up the WTC complex
The WTC had 12 million square feet of space.

15. Each floor was 50,000 square feet.

16. The buildings had their own ZIP codes - 10047 and 10048.

17. The towers were designed to look like a futuristic sculpture.

18. The structure was revolutionary. Its main supports were external, lining the four corners of each tower.

19. Critics condemned the completed buildings as "boring."

20. Completed, the buildings were 100 feet taller then the Empire State building.

As 43 year old I am also absolutely fascinated by the construction of the Freedom Tower, the monolith replacing the WTC and something I have dubbed the "middle finger".

Watch as the construction of this mother begins to rise.

I will be posting video as the construction of the tower progresses over the next 5 years or so.

The Freedom Tower as fully finished, 1776 foot of magnificant steel glass and concrete.

Carol Hirshfeld's naked grab for taxpayer cash!

When Carol Hirshfeld first came on the scene and when I was a much less informed lefty loser I thought she and jug ears John Campbell were the cats pajamas.

Socialism at 7 or otherwise known as Campbell Live is Left biased in the extreme, inaccurate at best and slanderous at times at its worst.

The damage they do to young impressionable minds must be horrendous.

It is no surprise that she will now work for a racist TV station, Maaoori TV, with a socialist agenda that is supported by the long suffering taxpayer.

She maybe cute and on guys list to do but boy that thin veneer hides a tainted way of thinking.

Even with Lipstick and an agenda a pig is still a pig

Judging by the fuss made by Labour and their mates in the left wing media over the last few weeks in regard to Melissa Lee and Christine Rankin, they haven't learnt a thing from the mud flinging and finger pointing that was done before the November General Election, an election that they lost in a landslide to National.

In Melissa Lee's case they labeled her a racist for telling the truth about crime ridden South Auckland and then Duncan Donut from TV3 tried to pin her with taking taxpayer money to pay for electioneering.

With Christine Rankin they hit her with the "unsuitable" label because she doesn't agree with the PC sisterhood over the way our children are raised.

To the brain dead non-thinking individual these accusations ring true but to those who think these accusations lack even the slightest hint of moral fibre they are at best slanderous and at worst racist themselves.

Why is this being done though?

Well, when you label an individual with a PC lefty moniker you are able to get the PC media on board, then try and bully them into submission.

This has the effect of stifling real debate by using that label and then further allows the media to bully and victimise the labeled.

It is anti democratic and was used by Labour before the 2008 election and is typical left wing nastiness. As in 2008 it will backfire on Labour because Kiwis hate unfairness and this is clearly unfair.

What it allowed Labour to do in the above examples was to first avoid the blame for the crime they fostered in hell holes like South Auckland over the last 9 years and for their similarly poor record over child beatings and death and the failure of the United Future sop, the Families Commission to do anything about it, proving that Rankin's appointment was appropriate.

Subterfuge like this is used to avoid responsibility for the Left's part in the very same problems they are pointing the finger of blame at people like Melissa and Christine.

It is morally wrong and it is used to hide the truth and when you cant speak the truth you know you have a problem.

Just today the Labour Party Candidate David Shearer was caught out telling the truth about the very same thing the Left have been frothing swine-like at the mouth over for the last 2 weeks.

When he called South Auckland's unemployed "criminals" there was a certain amount of truth to it. Just as Melissa Lee's comment was.

Nothing wrong with speaking your mind.

Did the media set on it as with Melissa?

You guessed it, No.

They really shouldn't because what is wrong with David speaking his mind? To be consistent with their history on such things though the Left Media really should go after Shearer with the same venom and jealously that they went after Lee and Rankin.

Will they?

No.

Labour racks up a $7500 per minute outrage

I remember John Banks on talkback radio in the 1990s discussing this and that and one thing he continually stressed and I cant remember why, was the cost of running Parliament.

He actually had it down to the cost per minute which for some reason has stuck firmly in my mind.

The price per minute was NZ$7500.00 and at the time I remember thinking that is *$%&%* expensive!

Funny that but my elephant like memory has come in useful for this piece.

Some of you may know that Parliament is debating changes to Auckland local body council legislation (even as I write this on a Saturday they are - listen here) and in those debates the discussion is often passionate, reasoned and related to the legislation at hand.

Opposition is allowed to what is called filibuster, basically waste time trying to add amendments to the legislation under debate.

What is different this time though is that the time wasting has reached historically lengthy proportions.

Labour have filibustered to the point where thousands of joke amendments have been put to the vote and to slow those joke votes down even further they have been cast in Maori by Labour Party members. These votes then have to be translated.

The New Zealand public are used to Labour wasting money, over the last 9 years billions of our dollars have evaporated into thin air.

This is different though, it is the working of parliament, the very centre of our democracy and it is being abused and slowed down by individuals who have no countenance to its cost to you and me.

The total waste by Labour just yesterday at $7500 a minute was $6.7 million and this is just one day of cost!

It would be nice to see this sort of detail in mainstream media lest the hoards are misled by braindead headlines but there you go, you are welcome.

Footnote: Labour's 4 day delay cost taxpayers a minimum of $26 million.

Road Worriers

The fuss made over the proposed motorway tunnels going through the suburb Mt Albert and through to Waterview reminds all of us of the elitism that rules the Labour Party and some of those that vote for them.

It is OK to put open motorways throughout Auckland through a number of different suburbs, some of them wealthy and some of them less so but not through Mt Albert, where the former Prime Minister lived?

Aparently yes, if you are a Labour Party member.

We are all well aware of driving along the Southern Motorway, through suburb after suburb along an above ground piece of tarmac, sometimes ten lanes in width.

True, motorways can now be built better above ground, with noise walls and noise dampening surfaces but they are a necessary evil.

The last link in Auckland's motorway system, the Waterview connection is the most crucial part of the system because it completes a road system designed in the 1950s to move future traffic.

The proposal by Labour was for a $3 billion plus unfunded tunnel of approximately 4km that was never going to go ahead under Helen Clark's reign of terror because it would have cost her votes and possibly her power. So it was a political decision to stall the motorway rather than a practical one to go forward and progress-hardly surprising given Labour's track record.

Labour took 9 years to get something done and failed. This left Mt Albert residents affected by the new road in limbo and it left Auckland as a whole losing 10s of millions of dollars a year because of lost time due to extra travel around the Mt Albert area.

What makes Mt Albert residents and surrounds such special people, nothing really, they aren't.

It was simply Labours elitist political approach that made it seem normal to them that spending more than $3 billion of taxpayer money on Mt Albert tunnels instead of half a billion on an open highway to keep political power and expecting people in South Auckland (ironically where Labour has BIG support), where that 10 lane highway I mentioned above cuts through, to pay for it.

We now have a decision and the road (PDF)is going to be built.

About bloody time.

Rankin's appointment stirs the Lazy Left

To have the Labour Party, Sue Bradford, that guy from the United Future Party (isn't that name an oxymoron with just one member?) and the navel gazing left media disagree with something means you surely must be on the road to something momentously truthful.

Having appointed Christine Rankin a commissioner in the Families Commission (not sure what they do, does anyone?) the left gets frothy at the mouth over an attractive well dressed woman with a strong opinion that they disagree with and the balls to make it known to everyone, simply because they feel threatened by her common sense and drive.

The fact that she comes from a practical background from the "wrong side of the tracks", instead of the Labour Party breeding ground of university political studies classes and unions brings their hackles up even more.

They feel threatened, challenged and understandably nervous with a capable person in their midst.

I cant wait for the shake up because these academics, theorists, leftist brain dead bureaucrats need a good kicking.

David Shearer: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing?

I haven't watched "Q & A" on TV One on Sunday because I cant stand Paul Holmes, especially when he sweats like a fat German with a sausage up his arse in a sauna, but I took a look quickly last Sunday and it gave me a belly laugh.

Holmes asked John Tamahere what he thought of David Shearers prospects in the Mt Albert Bye Election and Johnny Boy answered thus:

"Lets tick the boxes,

He's straight, he's married, he has a family"

I would have added that he is a male and white but of course that would be sexist and racist so I wont.

Funny how Shearer appears to be everything that the typical Labour MP isn't?

Private Eyes

In the wake of a police whitewash over emails stolen from Don Brash's computer a few years back, probably by Labour insiders, we see the latest stoop in dirty politics by Labour happen in the Onehunga Electorate office of National MP Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga.

Like the incident from a few years ago Northey has denied the accusations but similar to the incident a few years ago the finger can only be pointed in one direction.

Labour and its leader were unable to compete on level footing on policy last year before the general election and were left to wade in the filth and muck that they tried to scrape up on their opposition using taxpayer dosh but were left with the blowback on their own faces.

It seems they haven't learnt from that lesson and are repeating the same gutter politics this year in the Mt Albert Bye Election

Melissa Leigh, National's prospect for the Mt Albert Bye Election needs to keep her private papers private, least they fall into Labours hands, again.
